Hey everyone...

I lost my first tooth.

She did it!

My youngest learned to ride a bike. She is so happy. She has been able to ride the bike for a while but now she can "stop with out a crash", and start all by herself. Yippeee!!!
Look at her go....

Happy 4th of July!

We had a marvelous 4th of July here in Texas. Nick decided to host the first annual Bigney family Independence Day breakfast. Please see my blog for a picture of him in all his glory.

Nick made a very successful attempt to duplicate his grandfather's sour dough pancakes. Everyone attending the breakfast ooooooed and aaaahed at his skills. I was entertained all week as I watched him "raise" a sourdough start.

Strangely, though it was illegal, our neighbors put on a very nice fireworks display for us. I'm grateful nobody's house burned down. They also invited us over for the most delicious shishkabobs I've ever had, and they allowed us to swim in their pool. Rebecca enjoyed playing with their four children. It's good to have such kind neighbors.

Rebecca is loving summer vacation. We're all back to eating breakfast in our pajamas and we LOVE it. We've taken some of our leisure time to delve into the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Sometimes I'll actually see Rebecca reading them on her own during our resting time. Rebecca took swimming lessons over the last couple of weeks and was excited when she discovered she could tread water for three whole minutes. She also loves retrieving objects from the pool. That works out well, because Quinn likes throwing objects into the pool.

Quinn has decided that he doesn't like clothes. He's constantly stripping, so I have to send him outside. He loves playing with the hose and playing in his little turtle pool--naked. He's got his own agenda, and as I get ready for my day, he wants to know what's going on. "Go swimming? Go playground? Swimming lessons?" As we walk the dog, he requests, "Walk, too." A couple of days ago, he walked a good quarter of a mile. He's also getting some of that two year-old attitude saying, "Do it self" and "No, mine." Today he threw a fit in sacrament meeting because he wanted to "practice piano" and we wouldn't release him from our pew. Sorry little guy. Your day will come.

Very soon we'll be heading off to Montana to visit my Mom and Dad. We are so excited. Today Rebecca was telling me how good Grandma Latour's house smelled. We'll be stopping by, but sadly, not in time for the reunion. Everyone, have a great time. We love you guys.~Maren

Camping and Boating

Deon, Mom and Rachael’s family got together last weekend for a good time or as the boys would say, some wicked fun.

First, Thursday we headed south and spent the day boating. The kids found a mud hole and enjoyed jumping off the dock.

Then on Friday we headed up in the mountains for a change of scenery and some 4-wheeler trails for our camping trip. The kids again found a mud hole and enjoyed swimming in the little creek, riding the 4-wheeler, hiking, fishing and just hanging out.

We wore the kids (and grandma) out so everyone needed a nap. I still think I need one today. Kent was so nice to find this little cove of trees to shade mom from the sun. I think it was the coolest (temperature) place on the mountain.

We all finished the weekend with a good bath…
